Senior Employee Relations Consultant (Unionised)

Our client is currently seeking a Labour Relations Manager for their office based in Dublin.

Job Details:

Base Salary: 75,000 - 80,000 plus 20% bonus
Travel: 25% Nationwide

The Labour Relations Manager will be an important liaison between union officials, Company's Management and the staff and will be responsible to represent the company in disciplinary and grievance hearings.

The successful candidate will interface with both internal and external legal counsel for guidance to resolve article provision deviations contained in the Framework Agreement. This position collaborates cross-functionally with the business planning team and HR to investigate, analyse, and resolve critical and complex concerns (e.g., potential legal risks, unfavorable trends, employee investigations, etc.) following the implementation of new processes and tools.

The Labour relations manager will also provide support for the country on the company's compliance programmes including running the monthly Compliance Committees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to provide consultative guidance for business management to develop resolution strategies for employee issues and concerns
  • Successfully Coordinate Labour Relations activities to advise of local labour agreements and grievance handling processes.
  • Promote training initiatives to collaborate with union leadership and garner support for company's policies.
  • Implements new labour programs to build relationships with management and union leaders facilitating strong and healthy working environment
  • Demonstrate diplomacy, tact, discretion, and confidentiality in decision-making to facilitate exchanges of confidential information.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to investigate, analyze, and resolve critical and complex concerns
  • Develop implementation plans to ensure successful execution of Labour Relations initiatives and address periodic business initiatives
  • Understand local labour issues and priorities that impact the business and employee relations to ensure effective leadership decisions.
  • Engage expertise to help business-planning team understand applicable industry regulations, legislation and collective agreements and associated risks to drive compliance.
  • Consult with senior management on communications needs to ensure communications strategies are developed and aligned with country objectives for influencing behaviors in the business units.
  • Assesse work climates to determine the most effective method of delivering informative and educational communications that create positive results
  • Monitor and edit newsletters, publications, videos and other media to ensure content is aligned
  • Oversees the effective distribution of communications materials to ensure information is provided in a timely manner to the targeted audience
  • Review and analyze audit documents to assess compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Review audit findings with management to ensure identified exceptions are substantiated.
  • Communicate with country resources to address compliance gaps and assist in the development of action plans.
  • Report and communicates training results to the country to ensure effective training programs
  • Manage resources and people processes to ensure the day to day administration of processes and formal procedures.
  • Conducts frequent performance evaluations in a consistent, fair, and objective manner to facilitate open communication and encourage continuous performance improvement.
