Junior Category Analyst

Dublin West, Dublin
€32000 - €38000 per annum

An opportunity has arisen with the country most dynamic Pharmacy retail franchise group for a Retail Category Analyst to support the Brands rapid Development by providing high quality data and analysis across margin and investment, budget performance, sales performance, focusing at category, supplier, SKU & store level. The individual must be dynamic, a quick learning and able to work in a face paced retail environment and changing industry.


· To create macro and micro floor plans for new Pharmacies joining the group.

· To combine category strategies, market information and Pharmacy performance to generate the best planograms for our retail partners and customers.

· To create best in class category planograms, set up for growth and differentiation by reflecting market trends and customer insights.

· Management of the range change processes with all key stakeholder.

· To ensure ranges are implemented as per timelines set out, provide all necessary information and supporting material.

· To establish range change KPIs with the commercial team.

· Analysing market and industry data to identify trends and insights to support the buying and trading team.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 1-2 years previous experience in FMCG as a category analyst/ data analyst / customer insights analyst position
  • Experience / knowledge with Spaceman system
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment with the determination to deliver results
  • Action-orientated, with a focused and pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strategic thinker
  • High level of computer & Sales system literacy (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Good interpersonal and time management skills.


  • Assist in the development and implementation of category strategies for the group.
  • Application of annual category plan, identifying gaps and opportunities for both the organisation and our retailer partners.
  • Manage and support retailer category reviews.
  • Analyse and interpret data to make recommendations to the Customer Marketing and Buying teams to influence range, distribution, space, merchandising and promotional strategy.
  • Creation and delivery of monthly business reports using data sources where available.
  • Develop and maintain a full suite of channel specific planograms and update as necessary to reflect changes in consumer purchase behaviour and NPD.
  • Produce Monthly promotional category plans to support compliance at store levels of promotions.
  • Administration duties
  • Creation of Macro space for new pharmacies.
  • Management of Local Choice process
  • Managing new products within the business ensuring the customers and consumers are well informed.
  • Liaising with key supplier category partners.
