Job Advert: Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our clients dynamic team at their impressive production facility in Galway. This is a very hands-on role that requires the ability to diagnose and repair issues to minimise machine downtime and perform preventative maintenance to maintain optimal efficiency.
Company: Our client are a leading producer of fresh food for retailers and brand owners, including Lidl, Tesco, Aldi, and Musgrave.
Duties:
- Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential problems before they escalate.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks on production equipment, including conveyor systems, packing machines, and processing equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimise downtime and ensure continuous production.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency situations to minimise production interruptions.
- Recognise and conduct repairs on any structural or fabrication issues within a building.
- Collaborate with the production team to address maintenance needs and prioritise repairs based on production schedules.
- Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Provide training to production staff on the proper use and care of equipment.
Criteria:
- Certification in a relevant field.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment.
- Previous knowledge of PLCs, control systems, and automation is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Previous knowledge of CMMS is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and weekends as needed.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
