Overview

A leading food production company in Dublin is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop the site maintenance function. This is a key leadership role overseeing all engineering activity across a busy, fast‑paced factory environment, ensuring equipment reliability, safe operations, and continuous improvement.

Duties

• Lead and manage the maintenance team, including rostering, task allocation, and performance.
• Oversee hands‑on mechanical and electrical maintenance across high‑speed packing, automation, pneumatics, hydraulics, and facility systems.
• Drive compliance with all Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements.
• Own and monitor key engineering KPIs including downtime, availability, MTTF, cost drivers, stock control, and supplier SLAs.
• Implement and manage preventive maintenance programmes and maintenance records.
• Identify and deliver projects to improve equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate work with external service providers.
• Ensure effective technical support to production lines to minimise disruptions.
  

Criteria

• Strong experience managing a maintenance/engineering function within food, FMCG, or a similar high‑performance environment.
• Proven people management skills with experience leading and developing a team.
• Relevant mechanical/electrical qualification with strong technical troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to read schematics, use multimeters, and diagnose faults across automated systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving capability and a structured, logical approach.
• Strong understanding of H&S legislation and maintenance compliance standards.
• Self‑motivated, confident decision‑maker with excellent communication skills.

Reward

• Salary: €70,000
• 40‑hour week - typically Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm
