Maintenance Technician - Food Production - Galway

A leading food manufacturer in Galway is expanding its engineering team and now seeks a proactive Maintenance Technician to support a busy, high‑performing production environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance to keep production and packaging equipment operating efficiently.
• Respond quickly to machinery issues, using your technical skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic faults.
• Support production teams during line start‑ups, changeovers, and any technical challenges throughout the shift.
• Work to high standards of hygiene, safety, and quality, ensuring all tasks align with food manufacturing requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement across the site.
  

Criteria

• Experience in maintenance within manufacturing (food industry experience an advantage but not essential).
• Strong mechanical or electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, highly regulated production environment.
• A practical mindset with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work shifts as required.
