Maintenance Engineer (Night Shift)
Overview
An established food manufacturing business is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Engineer to support site operations within a fast‑paced FMCG environment. This role will focus on delivering both reactive and planned maintenance to ensure plant reliability, safety, and performance during night production.
The successful engineer will join a well‑resourced engineering function and play a key role in minimising downtime while supporting continuous improvement across production lines.
Responsibilities
- Provide reactive and preventative maintenance support across manufacturing operations
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to minimise production disruption
- Support delivery of planned preventative maintenance schedules
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance across engineering activities
- Work closely with production and engineering colleagues to drive operational efficiency
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and automation projects where applicable
Criteria
- Experience as a Maintenance Engineer within an FMCG or food production environment
- Apprenticeship trained with a recognised engineering qualification (HNC or equivalent preferred)
- Strong fault‑finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems
- Comfortable working nights in a high‑volume, time‑critical setting
- Proactive, dependable and safety‑focused approach
