Assistant Accountant
My client a global organisation is looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their established team on an initial contract basis. The company is going through growth at present due to expansion and acquisitions this is an excellent opportunity for a part qualified accountant looking to gain exposure and work in an established business.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Processing purchase orders
- Processing overhead invoices
- Investigating and resolving overhead‑related queries
- Reviewing overhead vendors to identify cost‑saving opportunities
- Maintaining strong understanding of cost centres and their impact on product‑level P&L
- Full oversight of fixed assets, including asset counts and reconciliations
- Completing supplier reconciliations
- Setting up new suppliers
- Ensuring adherence to all company policies related to the finance function
- Preparing statutory returns including VIES, VAT, 46G etc.
Month-End Responsibilities
- Ownership of overhead processing, reporting, and review
- Processing, reviewing, and reporting on accruals and prepayments
- Reconciling and reviewing revenue, cost, and gross profit across multiple products
- Supporting additional month‑end activities as required
Key Skills & Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Previous experience in a similar finance or accounting environment
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Deadline‑driven and results‑focused
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Own transport needed to get to office in North Dublin
