Financial Controller
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strategic and commercially focused Country Financial Controller to lead the finance function for a well-established international organisation. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, compliance, reporting, and business partnering across the Irish operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Lead the finance team and contribute to the senior management team.
- Drive financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Provide financial leadership in ERP system implementations and digital transformation projects.
Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting (FRS 101, Group Reporting, Management Accounts).
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and international accounting standards.
- Manage external audits and ensure timely delivery of unqualified audit reports.
Operational Finance
- Monitor working capital, FX exposure, and credit control performance.
- Implement cost control measures and overhead reduction strategies.
- Maintain robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.
Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Minimum 7-10 years' experience in senior finance roles, ideally within logistics, freight, or supply chain sectors.
- Proven experience in financial leadership, ERP systems (SAP preferred), and strategic planning.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of Access is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
