Overview
A well‑established agri‑food organisation is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join its engineering team. This position plays a key role in keeping essential production environments operating safely and smoothly, with a strong focus on electrical reliability, equipment performance, and high‑care standards. The role operates on daytime hours, Monday to Friday, with participation in a structured on‑call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the electrical upkeep of the site, including panels, lighting, wiring and general systems maintenance.
- Carry out routine inspections, planned tasks and responsive repairs to keep operations running without interruption.
- Use appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment to identify issues and implement safe, effective solutions.
- Build familiarity with a range of specialist machinery, including climate‑controlled units and automated production equipment.
- Update maintenance records, complete documentation, and support cross‑departmental communication.
- Ensure work practices uphold strict environmental, safety and bio‑control standards.
- Assist with general machinery repairs and support engineering activities as needed.
Criteria
- Recognised electrical qualification with experience in electrical maintenance.
- Confident diagnosing faults and working independently in a technical environment.
- Willing to develop expertise in specialist equipment and high‑care processes.
- Flexible to participate in an on‑call rotation when required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
