Due to a robust project pipeline and strategic expansion, we are seeking a motivated Civil Project Engineer to join my client's growing Cork team and help lead the delivery of innovative infrastructure solutions.

The Role


As a Civil Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical design and management of civil infrastructure for a diverse range of high-profile projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial developments. This role offers significant career progression as the firm continues its upward growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drainage Design: Lead the detailed design of foul and surface water drainage networks, ensuring compliance with Irish Water Codes of Practice and local authority standards.
  • 3D Modelling: Utilise Autodesk Civil 3D to develop complex site layouts, road alignments, and earthworks models.
  • Hydraulic Analysis: Perform advanced hydraulic modelling using MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage to ensure network efficiency and safety.
  • SuDS Integration: Design and implement Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS), including attenuation tanks, swales, and permeable paving.
  • Project Management: Oversee projects from initial feasibility and planning through to detailed design and construction.
  • Collaboration: Liaison with architects, clients, and statutory bodies to secure technical approvals.

Requirements

  • Education: A Level 8/9 Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4-7 years of post-graduate experience, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroDrainage (WinDes), and AutoCAD is essential.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of Irish standards, including DMURS, GDSDS, and the TII DMRB.
  • Professionalism: Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards it with Engineers Ireland) is highly desirable.
