Job Title: Commissioning Engineer - T&D Department
Location: Nationwide (Ireland)

Due to continued expansion, our client is seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer to join their Transmission & Distribution (T&D) department. This is a site-focused role covering multiple projects across Ireland, ideal for someone with strong technical, testing, and commissioning expertise in substation and automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compile detailed commissioning packs for new T&D projects.

• Participate in commissioning kick-off and coordination meetings.

• Drive the execution of the commissioning schedule.

• Manage RFI/TQs related to commissioning and update the design log.

• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) as required.

• Ensure all site modifications are implemented and update as-built documentation.

• Complete all commissioning and test documentation in line with project milestones.

• Configure protection relays, PLCs, RTUs, power quality meters, and SCADA components.

• Support the configuration and testing of SCADA systems.

• Conduct pre- and post-energisation testing of primary and secondary equipment.

• Submit redline drawings and provide declaration of fitness upon completion.

• Mentor and support junior commissioning engineers.

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified via Apprenticeship or Engineering degree (Electrical preferred).

• Minimum 5 years' experience in the commissioning of electrical systems.

• Strong working knowledge of test equipment, relays, and T&D technologies.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

• Flexible and adaptable with a willingness to travel nationwide.

• IT literate and able to complete technical documentation to a high standard.
