Key responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Governance
- Define program roadmap, scope, milestones, RACI, and governance for ISO 20000 & ISO 27001.
- Establish steering committee cadence; manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
- Own budget, resourcing, and vendor relationships.
ISO/IEC 20000 (ITSM) - Process Implementation
- Baseline current IT maturity; conduct gap analysis against ISO 20000 and ITIL 4 practices.
- Design and implement core processes ensuring that all IT processes and procedures are properly regulated and documented (with procedures, KPIs, roles, tool workflows etc.):
- Incident & Major Incident Management
- Request Fulfilment / Service Request Management
- Problem Management - Change Enablement / Change Management (including CAB)
- Service Asset & Configuration Management
- Knowledge Management
- Service Level Management
- Release & Deployment Management
- Capacity, Availability, Continuity, and Supplier Management
- Service Catalogue & Portfolio Management
- Work with IT Team to align IT tooling ((records, approvals, audit trails).
- Work with IT Team to define service measurement framework, dashboards, and continual improvement registers.
ISO/IEC 27001 - Implementation & Certification
- Baseline current IS maturity; conduct gap analysis against ISO 27001 requirements
- Define IS scope, context, interested parties, and risk methodology; establish governance.
- Perform risk assessment & treatment plan; maintain the risk register and Statement of Applicability.
- In conjunction with relevant stakeholders, draft and implement policies, standards, and procedures aligned to Annex A controls
- Define control owners, metrics, and evidence collection; integrate IS with IT processes.
- Coordinate internal Self assessments / audits, management reviews, corrective actions, and certification audit readiness
Integration, Tooling & Enablement
- Map IT processes to IS controls (e.g., Change Management ↔ Secure Configuration; Incident ↔ Security Incident; Supplier Management ↔ Third-Party Risk).
- Drive training & awareness for process adoption and control execution across teams.
Assurance, Reporting & Continual Improvement
- Establish KPI dashboards and management reporting.
- Run corrective & preventive actions, lessons learned, and improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and lead pre-assessments, Stage 1 & Stage 2 certification audits; address nonconformities.
Team
- Establish a strong knowledge and understanding for IT governance topics within IT
- Create a collaborative mindset and approach around IT Governance in the overall IT team. Work with all IT colleague and customers to implement the IT governance rules
Regulations / Compliance
- Ensure process are in place to ensure compliance with all required external regulations (E.g. NIS2)
- Implement a process to monitor compliance with all implemented IT & Security processes / procedures
Candidate Summary
An experienced IT and IS Governance Manager with a strong track record in:
- Leading and implementing ISO20000/ITIL 4 and ISO27001 processes & requirements
- Achieving and maintaining ISO270001 certification
You will have a strong experience of IT governance, ITIL best practices and IT project Management and have held a similar position for over 5 years. Being able to structure and motivate your peers and their colleagues and operating across multiple layers of stakeholders will be critical in this role. A strong presence and ability to work well with others to influence, collaborate and engage with multiple stakeholders is also required. Prior experience working in a PE owned organisation would be desirable.
Skills and Experience
- In-depth knowledge and experience of IT regulations and organisation
- In-depth knowledge and experience of creating best-in-class ITIL IT processes and their implementation
- In-depth knowledge and experience of ISO27001 Annex A Controls and their
- implementation
- Strong people skills focused on developing peers and their associates toward working with
- structured processes and based on process KPIs
- Understanding of business value created by IT, specifically in the area of IT Governanc
Qualifications
- Graduate qualification or Masters ideal, proven track record of successfully holding similar roles also acceptable. ITIL or other ITSM certifications as well as IT project management certifications is a plus.
