Maintenance Fitter - Food Production Company

Overview

Join a dynamic and fast-paced food production company as a Maintenance Fitter, where your mechanical expertise will play a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on, full-time position ideal for someone who thrives in a team environment and enjoys solving technical challenges in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs on a wide range of equipment, including high-speed packing, automation, and various mechanical systems (vacuum, pneumatic, hydraulic).
• Conduct preventative maintenance beyond scheduled programs to minimize downtime.
• Provide technical support for production lines and associated processes.
• Set up and change over machines for different product runs.
• Carry out general facility maintenance (DIY tasks such as fixing doors, lighting, plumbing, painting, etc.).
• Collaborate with fellow maintenance team members to ensure seamless operations.

Criteria

• Relevant trade qualification with strong mechanical or fitter skills.
• Ability to read mechanical schematics and troubleshoot electrical faults using a multimeter.
• Comfortable working with automated systems and modern control interfaces.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally food production.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Highly motivated and proactive approach to work.
