Overview
We are working with a large, well-established food manufacturing business to recruit a Maintenance & Engineering Manager for their site in Co. Kildare.
This is a senior leadership role within a complex production environment, with responsibility for delivering an efficient, high-performing engineering function while driving reliability, cost control, and continuous improvement across the site.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the maintenance and engineering team
- Deliver site KPIs across planned maintenance, breakdown response, and cost control
- Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies to improve reliability
- Plan, prioritise and schedule all maintenance activities in line with production needs
- Manage maintenance budgets and control expenditure in line with targets
- Oversee and coordinate third-party contractors and service providers
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and high-performance standards
- Support site audits and ensure full compliance with quality and safety standards
- Manage engineering stores, spare parts and inventory control
- Lead engineering-related CAPEX projects and liaise with group functions
- Maintain responsibility for site utilities including electricity, water, air and refrigeration
Criteria
- Trade-qualified or degree-qualified in Engineering
- 5 years' experience in a similar maintenance/engineering leadership role
- Background within manufacturing, ideally food or FMCG
- Experience managing large engineering teams in fast-paced environments
- Strong project management and continuous improvement experience
- Proven leadership and people management capability
