Overview

We are working with a large, well-established food manufacturing business to recruit a Maintenance & Engineering Manager for their site in Co. Kildare.

This is a senior leadership role within a complex production environment, with responsibility for delivering an efficient, high-performing engineering function while driving reliability, cost control, and continuous improvement across the site.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the maintenance and engineering team
• Deliver site KPIs across planned maintenance, breakdown response, and cost control
• Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies to improve reliability
• Plan, prioritise and schedule all maintenance activities in line with production needs
• Manage maintenance budgets and control expenditure in line with targets
• Oversee and coordinate third-party contractors and service providers
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement and high-performance standards
• Support site audits and ensure full compliance with quality and safety standards
• Manage engineering stores, spare parts and inventory control
• Lead engineering-related CAPEX projects and liaise with group functions
• Maintain responsibility for site utilities including electricity, water, air and refrigeration

Criteria

• Trade-qualified or degree-qualified in Engineering
• 5 years' experience in a similar maintenance/engineering leadership role
• Background within manufacturing, ideally food or FMCG
• Experience managing large engineering teams in fast-paced environments
• Strong project management and continuous improvement experience
• Proven leadership and people management capability
