Overview
We're working with a leading manufacturing client in County Wicklow who are expanding their engineering function and now seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team. This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment, supporting the smooth and reliable running of modern automated production lines.
Duties
- Carry out reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and keep production flowing.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and equipment.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
- Update maintenance records and manage inventory through the site's CMMS (Holisticeh).
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
- Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and deliver effective solutions.
- Complete work orders to a high standard and support ongoing site improvements.
- Exposure to water treatment systems, refrigeration (glycol), steam boilers, and general plant services.
- Ability to weld is a strong advantage.
Criteria
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, National Craft Certificate, or equivalent qualification.
- Strong multiskilled engineering background.
- Minimum 2 years' post‑apprenticeship experience in a high‑volume automated environment.
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on maintenance excellence and continuous improvement.
