Overview

We're working with a leading manufacturing client in County Wicklow who are expanding their engineering function and now seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team. This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment, supporting the smooth and reliable running of modern automated production lines.

Duties

  • Carry out reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and keep production flowing.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and equipment.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
  • Update maintenance records and manage inventory through the site's CMMS (Holisticeh).
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
  • Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Complete work orders to a high standard and support ongoing site improvements.
  • Exposure to water treatment systems, refrigeration (glycol), steam boilers, and general plant services.
  • Ability to weld is a strong advantage.


Criteria

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, National Craft Certificate, or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong multiskilled engineering background.
  • Minimum 2 years' post‑apprenticeship experience in a high‑volume automated environment.
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on maintenance excellence and continuous improvement.
