Overview

Our client is a well-established industrial services business with a growing footprint across Ireland, known for its focus on sustainable operations and long-term investment in its people. As demand for their services continues to grow, they're now looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician/Fitter to join their engineering team.

This is a varied, hands-on maintenance role where no two days are quite the same. You'll be responsible for keeping plant and equipment running reliably, splitting your time between planned maintenance and reactive troubleshooting, with occasional travel to other sites as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a range of mechanical plant and equipment to a high standard.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment as projects arise.
• Keep clear, accurate maintenance and inspection records.
• Follow site procedures and health and safety standards at all times.
• Report any issues affecting production promptly and help drive corrective actions.
• Look for practical ways to improve processes and reliability on site.
• Work closely with other teams and travel between sites when required.
  

Criteria

• Qualified mechanical fitter or equivalent trade background, gained through apprenticeship or recognised training.
• Strong hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting.
• Comfortable working across mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Some fabrication skills (welding, drilling, etc.) would be an advantage.
• Full clean driving licence required due to occasional travel.
• Good communicator, self-motivated, and flexible to meet operational demands.
