Role Overview
As a Junior Structural Engineer, you will join a dynamic, medium-sized consultancy in Dublin. You will support senior engineers in delivering high-quality structural solutions for a diverse portfolio, including large-scale residential blocks, educational facilities, and commercial office spaces. This role is deeply integrated with BIM workflows, utilizing Revit to ensure coordinated and efficient design delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Analysis: Assist in the structural analysis and design of building components using industry-standard software like Robot, SCIA, or Tekla Structural Designer.
- BIM & Revit: Develop detailed 3D models and extract 2D drawings within a Revit environment, ensuring compliance with project BIM standards.
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and planning/tender documentation for various project stages.
- Project Coordination: Participate in multidisciplinary design meetings to resolve clashes and coordinate with architects and M&E consultants.
- Site Inspections: Conduct periodic site visits to monitor construction progress and verify that work aligns with structural specifications.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Minimum Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Experience: 1-3 years of post-graduate experience in a structural design consultancy is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD. A solid understanding of Eurocodes for steel, concrete, and timber design.
- Professional Status: Non-chartered, but actively working towards Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal English skills for technical report writing and team collaboration.
