Overview
An established and innovative manufacturer based in Longford is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic team. This company is a key player in the food production sector, known for its high standards in quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring the smooth operation of production lines through proactive maintenance and close collaboration with production teams.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain production line performance, responding swiftly to any mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with production teams to meet operational targets and reduce downtime.
- Carry out preventative maintenance (PM) and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion health and safety practices across the engineering function.
- Participate in daily and weekly performance reviews and shift handovers.
Criteria
- Electrical trade qualification required; third-level engineering qualification is a plus.
- Experience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs (Siemens S7), pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair high-speed production equipment.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., Pemac) and engineering documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
