Overview

An established manufacturing company in Athlone is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join their engineering team. This is a great opportunity to work in a modern production environment with a strong focus on reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults quickly to minimize downtime.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and compliance.
• Approximately 75% preventive and 25% reactive maintenance.

Criteria

• National Craft Certificate (QQI Level 6) in Mechanical Fitting or similar.
• At least 3 years' experience in mechanical maintenance within manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

• Hours: Monday-Friday day shift, 39-hour week with flexible start/finish times.
• Pay: Competitive hourly rate based on experience, plus attractive overtime rates.
