Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to join a leading food production business based in County Cork. This role is with a well-established confectionery manufacturer that forms part of a larger, highly respected food group. The facility is purpose-built and home to a range of automated and semi-automated production lines. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is passionate about driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a small, skilled engineering team in maintaining and improving production line efficiency.
- Oversee both planned and reactive maintenance activities across a variety of modern industrial equipment.
- Ensure rapid response to breakdowns and implement root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, equipment reliability, and documentation.
- Manage spare parts inventory and liaise with external contractors and suppliers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support minor project work as needed.
Criteria
- Minimum 8 years' experience in industrial maintenance, ideally within food or FMCG environments.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills; knowledge of pneumatics and industrial control systems is highly desirable.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and industrial automation systems is a distinct advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 and familiarity with bakery equipment such as mixers, depositors, and flow wrappers is beneficial.
- A proactive, self-motivated leader with excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.
