An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially focused Accountant to join a growing organisation within the logistics and supply chain sector.

This position plays a key role in supporting financial operations, with responsibility for overseeing the financial performance of a core business division. The successful candidate will partner closely with operational stakeholders, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong cost control, and robust financial governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the financial performance of a key operational division, including revenue and direct cost control.
• Monitor profitability and provide analysis on business performance, trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Oversee and support accounts payable activities.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the ERP system.
• Partner with operational teams to ensure accurate allocation of costs and revenues.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and financial procedures.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a finance, accounting, or accounts payable environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Experience working with SAP or a comparable ERP system.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret and communicate financial information.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
