Overview
A major manufacturing employer in County Monaghan is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join its engineering team within a highly automated and quality-driven production facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to secure a long-term position with a business that places a strong emphasis on engineering excellence, operational reliability, and continuous improvement. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for maintaining critical production assets, responding to equipment issues, and helping to drive plant performance across the site.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across a range of manufacturing and process equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime and maximise production output.
- Support asset reliability initiatives through effective maintenance practices and root cause analysis.
- Perform inspections, repairs, and servicing of equipment to ensure optimal operational performance.
- Work closely with production teams to identify improvement opportunities and enhance machine efficiency.
- Accurately complete maintenance records, shift reports, and engineering documentation.
- Participate in equipment upgrades, improvement projects, and commissioning activities where required.
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, Health & Safety, Permit-to-Work, and site operating procedures.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and proactively promote a strong safety culture.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Criteria
- Recognised apprenticeship or trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
- Relevant engineering qualification such as ONC, BTEC, HNC, or equivalent.
- Proven experience carrying out maintenance within a manufacturing, production, or process environment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
- Experience working with preventative maintenance systems and reliability-focused maintenance practices.
- Comfortable working a continental shift pattern incorporating both day and night shifts.
- Previous experience within food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, FMCG, or other regulated industries would be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
