Recently Qualified Accountant
An established private investment office with assets under management exceeding €1 billion is seeking a newly qualified accountant to join its growing Treasury function. This is a newly created role driven by the continued expansion of the group's investment portfolios and offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to a live multi-asset investment environment.
Reporting to senior finance leaders, the successful candidate will work across treasury operations, portfolio administration, investment reporting, and FP&A activities. This position provides excellent visibility across the business and significant opportunities for professional development and career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day treasury operations, including cash management, bank and margin account reconciliations, and preparation of weekly consolidated cash flow reports.
- Assist with the administration of investment portfolios across multiple brokers, including recording and reconciling positions in shares, bonds, derivatives, and CFDs.
- Prepare weekly portfolio performance reports, including profit and loss analysis and basic IRR reporting by investment position.
- Maintain broker and custodian records and process corporate actions, coupons, dividends, and other cash events.
- Assist with month-end close activities for treasury and investment entities, including general ledger reconciliations.
- Support FRS 102 accounting treatment of investment holdings and associated fair value and trading adjustments.
- Assist with foreign exchange monitoring and mark-to-market reporting for open positions.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, FP&A activities, and ad hoc finance projects.
- Utilise AI and automation tools to improve the efficiency and accuracy of finance processes while applying professional judgement and review.
- Support finance reporting system enhancements and implementation projects.
Candidate Requirements
- Newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong interest in financial markets and investment instruments, including shares, bonds, derivatives, and CFDs.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse large volumes of transactional data.
- Experience using, or a keen interest in, AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude to support finance and reporting activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong attention to detail with a goal-oriented and results-driven approach.
- Knowledge of FRS 102 and statutory financial reporting would be advantageous.
