Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to maximise equipment reliability and plant performance.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults across production and process equipment.
  • Respond effectively to breakdowns, minimising downtime and ensuring production targets are achieved.
  • Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on manufacturing machinery and associated systems.
  • Support root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and performance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all engineering documentation to required standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with site safety procedures, Permit-to-Work systems, GMP requirements, and LOTO practices.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and contribute to ongoing operational excellence initiatives.

Criteria

  • Completed apprenticeship or recognised qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
  • Previous maintenance experience gained within a manufacturing, production, FMCG, food processing, pharmaceutical, or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong fault-finding ability across both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with preventative maintenance systems and reliability-focused maintenance strategies.
  • Comfortable working a rotating three-shift pattern including nights.
  • Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and automated production systems would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance.
