Overview
An established food production organisation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join its Maintenance team. Working across two modern production facilities in County Monaghan, you will play a key role in ensuring machinery uptime, supporting production targets, and maintaining a safe, efficient working environment.
This is a day‑shift role, Monday to Friday, offering strong stability, excellent benefits, and long‑term career prospects.
Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and planned maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC‑controlled equipment.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and complete effective repairs.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and contractor supervision when required.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and environmental procedures.
- Maintain organised workshops, tools, and spare parts stock levels.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to apprentices and participate in cross-skilling activities.
Criteria
- 3-5 years' experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of electro‑mechanical systems, automation, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Experience working with high‑speed production lines or similar automated equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and troubleshoot effectively.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical engineering.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, communication skills, and ability to work independently.
- Full Driving Licence.
- Flexibility to support business needs, including occasional on‑call cover.
